Before they were famous, they were $ale contestants

This month, we feature Matt Ottinger.

Back in May 1985, he competed on $ale and although he lost the match on a tie breaker question after the Speedround, he won over $2,300 in cash and prizes including a set of luggage and a swinging outdoor bench.

Today, he is known by all game show fans on the internet as the man behind the popular websites such as THE GAME SHOW HOME GAME PAGE and THE BILL CULLEN HOMEPAGE.

But for those who live up in central Michigan, they know Matt best as the host of the high school quiz program QuizBusters which airs on WKAR, a PBS affiliate owned and operated by Michigan State University in East Lansing.
